Federación Constitución2 - 2Prov. Saavedra

Federación Constitución and Provincial Saavedra shared the points in a match that had everything it promised: two evenly matched sides who set out to play in similar fashion, both in a 4-4-2, and who ended up paying dearly for every defensive error. The final 2-2 sums up well that afternoon in which neither side managed to capitalise on their chances to take all three points. Primera L de CABA saw an entertaining fixture in which the goals came almost naturally, without either goalkeeper having to make impossible saves.

Mateo Pollini was the best on the pitch. The right-sided midfielder for Federación Constitución, at just 21 years old, scored a goal and set up another, showing that ability to unbalance the opposition that marks him out. Misael Buffoli also added to the home attack with his goal, while Rodolfo Viani, the nineteen-year-old youngster, had to settle for a yellow card after an impulsive reaction. For Provincial Saavedra, Pipa Loncón and Franco Mazur were the scorers. Loncón, also a young prospect, moved with the urgency typical of a Rosario striker who never stopped looking for the ball. Mazur, from midfield, chipped in with the goal that kept the visitors in the match. Nicolás Greco orchestrated Saavedra’s defensive play with his usual lack of haste, while Alejandro Reyna, Federación Constitución’s veteran left-back at 32, showed he still has plenty left to assist and bring some order.

The draw leaves a bittersweet taste for both sides. Federación Constitución played at home with chances of taking the win, but were not clinical when it mattered. Provincial Saavedra, meanwhile, showed they have attacking resources, but are still leaking at the back. For ELDT, a point away from home is not bad, but the analysis should focus on how an evenly balanced side that was superior in spells during the match ended up unable to take the win from Constitución.
