Reservas Boedo0 - 1Club Atlético Santa Rosa

Pompeya took a deserved win on the pitch of Reservas Boedo, in a match where both teams came with similar intentions but only one had the necessary accuracy to turn that into a goal. The final 1-0 was the reflection of a tight contest, balanced in approach, where the difference lay in the details and in the ability to take the moment when it came. Néstor Vianello, the visitors' attacking midfielder, was the one who settled the result with a goal that arrived when the home side could not maintain the parity they had built for most of the match.

Reservas Boedo started with the intention of controlling the game from midfield with Elías Bazzani in the centre of the pitch, while Ian Zurita tried to create movement down the left. Full-back Fabián Nieto, with his twenty-nine years of experience, did his job in defence, though without any great flourish. At the other end, Pompeya found in Leonardo Bonechi, that seventeen-year-old centre-back who already shows an unusual solidity for his age, a cornerstone in defence. Sergio Zapata at left-back was the one who offered the most going forward, while Lito Urquiza, the veteran winger of thirty-two, moved intelligently on the right, something Boedo could not contain consistently.

Vianello's goal ended up being enough in a match where Pompeya made the most of their chance and Boedo could not turn possession into real danger. Santi Rojo in the visitors' goal barely had any work to do, which says a lot about how the away side managed the tempo. For Reservas Boedo, there is the feeling of a match they could have taken but let slip for lack of cutting edge. Pompeya leave Boedo with three points that strengthen them near the top, while the home side will have to look at why they could not capitalise on the balance they created.
